OBAMA’S LOCKOUT

In what can only be described as a PURGE of a free press, Barak Obama has begun the process of denying access to his campaign to those outlets that will not provide him favorable coverage. It would appear his campaign has abandoned any effort to communicate with THE press in favor of communicating exclusively with THEIR press.

What other extreme actions by an Obama administration await the country if he should succeed? It would appear that those dreaded atmospherics that have historically proved politically fatal , that is paranoia and obsessive control, have infected what could be the Obama administration. It would seem in all their talented wisdom they have decided to set the tone for what is to come by taking a page from the Richard Nixon ‘Politics of Siege’ playbook, and will, in all probability, enjoy a similar success to him in dictating their terms to America.

If Obama is taking such drastic steps with things described by many as “going his way”, what craziness would result when Obama encounters real problems?

Obama’s practice of locking out anyone around him that might not sing from his choir book is troubling and strange, and as Nixon reluctantly learned, more destructive than any of his perceived enemies. Obama needs to personally address this ‘lock out’ doctrine and let the people know if he is responsible, or is it a policy mistake by one of his well meaning handlers.

BIG GOVERNMENT….BIG CONTROL….LESS FREEDOM

Ask a question of a political candidate and his party mobilizes its operatives to invade your privacy and illegally access confidential government databases in a concerted effort to find some “dirt” on you.. Criminal records, motor vehicle, tax and court records have been invaded by a political party with the intent of harming an American citizen. Laws have been broken in this, the Democrat’s latest shameful exercise and the Ohio Attorney General needs to respond. Never has the choice between the rule of law and corrupt political neglect been so starkly defined, but this is Ohio.

Could Democrats really be so paranoid that they see Joe the Plumber’s question as an orchestrated attack? Who, in all fairness, could not see it as a voter simply asking a question? What the Democrats are really enraged about was Obama’s response to the question. It coined the phrase “spread the wealth around” and it was a very big blunder, and the rabid left sees that blunder as Joe’s fault. So in their skewed reasoning, Joe needs to be punished, his good standing as an ordinary citizen must be sullied and he must be recast as a jerk, a trouble-making crackpot not worthy of any serious consideration. It is a new era; no longer is the art of the smear confined to the political arena, where it is accepted as part of the game, that has now changed; YOU, the private citizens are no longer out of bounds. It is how Democrats operate, and again, not a soul among them stands to voice disgust or take exception to the baseness involved in this routine conduct of Democrat business, not a single soul.

It is well within the realm of possibility if the liberals succeed that; YOU COULD BE THE NEXT JOE! You receive a notice from the U.S. Department of Healthcare and have been informed that the brain scan your child needs is scheduled in 3 months at a facility 80 miles away, or your desperately needed heart bypass is conveniently scheduled at a time which may find you already dead. This happens today in socialized Canada and Britain where so called “National Health” is regarded as a sad joke that kills. But your plight may never see the light of day with the massive liberal Ministry of Information that is today’s entrenched Press, you have lost your right to protest; the system tells you, you don’t tell the system!

Liberal ideology that, in order to raise the least of us we must lower all of us isn’t progressive social justice, it’s criminal social destruction, a failed experiment clearly demonstrated by the collapse of communist Russia, and the dismal standard of living in those remaining arcane holdouts. Yet there are those fools who refuse to learn from history in their mad dash to the bottom and they insist on dragging the country down with them. With the possibility of Democrat control of a veto proof Congress and the White House, and apparently none of them concerned with the Constitution of the United States or the American traditions of individual freedom and self reliance, a bleak future looms ever nearer, and that bodes ill for all private, productive citizens..

A NATION OF JOES

Sen. Obama’s exchange with “Joe the Plumber” was perhaps the most interesting moment of the campaign. Why? Because it froze everything and focused attention on a stunning phrase that is fast becoming the mantra of hard working Americans. Obama’s biggest mistake at this late date was characterizing his own program as something that was long known, but never acknowledged, as “spreading the wealth”.

The very fact that Joe in that exchange, represented the blue collar working class that the Democrats have for so long, taken for granted, could not have been more awkward. Joe got a crystal clear explanation from Obama of what the ultimate liberal agenda is. Never have they been more on message. Obama may as well have said, “Look Joe, I want to take the money YOU worked hard for so I can pay for programs that give it to those who don’t want to work that hard because they vote our way, got it?”

Democrat support of the working class is an illusion. They love to pose with union big shots, but the back-slapping pledges of support may not run as deep as commonly thought. Union rank and file workers share Joe’s concern about liberal politicians who have their hand in their pockets. I know from experience the anger and resentment workers have for big government. Every time they get a little breathing room, a brief time when they can gather that little extra to put away, the government finds a way to take it away from them for another “program”

You see, there are no programs for people who work for what they have. Democrats have designated them as the BANKER for their game board . As far as they’re concerned job holders are the ‘fortunate ones’ as if holding down a job was a gift. Democrats love to play the ‘haves and have nots’ game and, if you work for a living, you’re one of the ‘haves’, you have no voice, no choice, and no right to complain about anything. That is the way Democrats see our society.

MURTHA….IT JUST GETS WORSE

Filed under: CULTIVATED STUPIDITY — webmaster @ 3:17 pm

John Murtha who called United States Marines “cold blooded murderers” has once again resorted to slander. What perversion of logic can be offered to explain Murtha’s recklessness, his bizarre fetish of needing to smear American’s at every opportunity? First our fine young men in uniform, neck deep in war, and now the citizens of his own state. What is wrong with this man? More important, what is wrong with the people who voted for him? It’s difficult to imagine anything truly useful he could do. He is beyond embarrassing, his behavior is strange. He unloads his destructive polarizing bombs with an arrogant impunity and total disregard that his targets are Americans.

It’s time for the people who elected Murtha to explain. Is his the type of behavior they condone in a congressional representative? Has he sufficiently embarrassed you? Would you vote for him again?

Murtha should go, he serves no useful purpose, he is a divisive cynic who finds nothing good about his country. He imposes himself into the lives of ordinary people and publicly slanders them with the hope of injecting chaos into their lives. How is this clown allowed out un-supervised? This time Murtha referred to the very American citizens that he is sworn to represent, as RACISTS!!!

Murtha is a pathogen, he moves around spreading a vile sickness wherever he goes. This time Murtha’s target were the people in his home state. Murtha decides who is a racists, he decides who is a murderer and when he decides, he shouts it to the world. It is true, there’s no fool like an old fool.

JOHN LEWIS - ANOTHER THOUGHTLESS LIBERAL

Filed under: CULTIVATED STUPIDITY — CW @ 7:25 pm

Representative John Lewis D-GA. shamed himself with a blatantly false statement accusing John McCain and Sarah Palin of racism. It seems that older black leaders have not gotten the memo. They refuse to recognize a different America, a different generation, a different place in society. They linger, sadly, in a time of unbending polarization when there was rampant violence and fear. The social evolution regarding race relations since those times has been remarkable. In another post, I noted that Jesse Jackson also remains in that past regarding race, to him it is literally his bread and butter. His despicable comments about Obama exposed him as the racial manipulator that he is. Jackson, disguised as a man of God, has exploited every opportunity to benefit himself by maintaining a steady
level of racial tension and strife requiring his relentless intervention. He has been rejected by a
new generation, a new society of independent, educated young people who have made it clear, there is no longer a place for your brand of “help”.

John Lewis is either out of touch, or stupid. For a man to sabotage his own reputation and destroy his credibility as a national figure, as Jackson has effectively done, John Lewis for the sake of a political contest demonstrated another sad example of ‘anything goes’ liberal talk.

Lewis is a cheap man if he can take spirited, civil discourse between honorable people, dissect it in his polarized mind, trot out the well worn claim of racism and mindlessly hurl it at these decent people. There is no place for this attack on John McCain and Sarah Palin. This tired trash won’t work anymore. The charge of racism by blacks in bygone days was a valid claim, the term “racist” was used to describe the haters, the killers and bombers, the violent strain of unthinking monsters who tore down, and burned and lynched. Racist was a meaningful word with great weight.

Then came the crop of racial operators who found that they could get great effect merely at the suggestion of the word. If you want to silence your opponent cry “racist”. They cheapened its meaning and it was too often used with malice, a tactic that worked. Legitimate opinion and open debate of ideas could quickly be silenced by pointing a finger and screaming “Racist!” It is now an ugly word with an ugly meaning and its careless, knee jerk use is vile.

John Lewis’ efforts to drag society back to a darker time, to regress to the tension and strife, and ignite the suspicions that infected our country in that time, and force feed that poison to infect a new generation of black Americans is unforgivable.

It would appear that remnants of venom and a fear of irrelevance has again caused a so called black leader to revert to careless, offensive and damaging words. Barak Obama must repudiate Lewis’
statement, and do it quickly.

PALIN 1 BIDEN 0

Gov. Palin ran rings around Joe Biden. It was no contest, she came out swinging totally catching Biden off guard. The contrast between the two was stark on all levels. The split screen didn’t help Biden, he looked faded, worn out, the first thought I had about him was, ‘throwback’
Palin was telegenic, fresh and alive and she possessed something long dead in Biden, enthusiasm.

She talked to the people, plain talk, direct talk, he droned on in classic Washington mode.
The thing I can’t understand about Biden is his constant reference to Scranton and the gritty people there. The Senator represents Delaware and I would think that repeated slight would tend to irritate Delaware voters who put him in the Senate.

To illustrate Biden’s tired worn out spiel, he dusted off that age old standby of claiming to have “put 100,000 cops on the street!” I’ve been hearing that line for decades. It’s from a different time.

The thing I found offensive and unforgivable was that Biden would invoke the deaths of his wife and son to garner some advantage in a contest. How could something so intimately tragic, so deeply personal be so carelessly thrown out on the political gaming table. I used to say nothing a politician does would surprise me, but this one did. It was out of place and cheapened something sacred for the sake of a job interview. It will now be the low water mark to which other politicians will be compared.

Senator McCain and Gov. Palin are the best team for this country. Joe Biden is a political barnacle who belongs to the northeast liberal cabal of monotonous, entrenched career Pols. Obama is a Chicago operator (and all that that entails) whose claim to fame is doing nothing noteworthy. The choice is clear.

“NO!”…..the American People.

Filed under: CULTIVATED STUPIDITY — CW @ 4:32 pm

The Democrats needed 13 more votes to pass the bail out package and today they held a post-mortem news conference after the defeat to whine about how Republicans failed to supply the needed votes. This claim serves well to demonstrate the stupid-assed logic of politicians. The fact that wasn’t mentioned was that 94 Democrats voted no! The one question not posed by the illustrious press was “You criticize Republicans for not delivering the votes; why couldn’t you get 13 more out of the 94 Democrats to vote with their leadership?”

House Speaker Pelosi ranted on about the shocking lack of Bush Administration oversight, she repeated “…oversight…oversight…oversight!” Well guess what Ms. Pelosi, I have a news flash for you!

The United States House Committee on Financial Services ( House Banking Committee) is supposed to oversee the entire financial services industry, including the securities, insurance, banking, and housing industries. The Committee also oversees the work of the Federal Reserve, the United States Department of the Treasury, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and other financial services regulators. It is chaired by BARNEY FRANK (DEMOCRAT-MA) Just what has he been doing all this time? More nonfeasance as usual.

It appears that every area of responsibility that Barney Frank was charged with has collapsed in ruin….what do you have to say about that Ms. Pelosi?….Mr. Frank? Where was his oversight? Why do you insult Americans with your childish excuses that nothing is the fault of Democrats? This isn’t a school yard game.

The silly posturing at the Democratic news conference was a pathetic display of shirking any responsibility for anything. Barney Frank tried to do stand-up, the lesser members each took a turn at the podium to mumble forgettable claptrap and Pelosi did her, “…oversight” schtick .

So the world didn’t end, we still have a Congress of children running things and the country continues to sink.

BAIL OUT ON THE ROAD TO RUIN

Filed under: CULTIVATED STUPIDITY — CW @ 1:49 am

Today’s Titans of Wall Street make Charles Ponzi look like a rank amateur. Their enablers, the very people entrusted by American citizens with regulating that industry, turn out to AGAIN to be political appointees, hacks, pals who needed jobs. Hang around Washington long enough with the right connections and some insider will figure a way to shove some taxpayers money in your direction. The part that really stinks is that these appointees in charge of the economic well being of the nation, have no clue what the job requires, or of the seriousness of the responsibilities they assume, nor do those who appointed them. Ability and competence are of little consequence when you enter the city limits of Washington D.C. it’s all about who you know.

I think Christopher Cox should be the poster boy for American Nonfeasance, and Washington should officially adopt the name; “The Nonfeasance City”

non·fea·sance
the omission of some act that ought to have been performed.
non·fea·sance
(nŏn-fē’zəns) Pronunciation Key
n. Failure to perform an act that is either an official duty or a legal requirement.

n. a failure to act when under an obligation to do so; a refusal (without sufficient excuse) to do that which it is your legal duty to do

As Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, it was HIS JOB to regulate the crap shooters that enjoyed the easy money at the Wall Street tables. The non-performance of his duties, and his total disregard of the economic well being of the country, and welfare of the American people is truly astounding. How can the top guy not know anything? How is that acceptable? How was out of control leverage at financial institutions allowed to reach insane levels? Why were mortgages written to people who couldn’t afford them, and why was the mortgage industry allowed to package that junk and sell them as a legitimate investment vehicle?

Wall Street is always dreaming up new ways to grab a buck. They have made a science of work-arounds aimed at skirting regulations and laws with little or no interest in ethics, sound judgment or future consequences. Today is the age of “I got mine” greed. There is a notion common with this crowd that there is never enough! The term ‘F-U-money’, to them, means enough money to tell the world F U. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were run into the ground from the inside as astonishing amounts of F. U. money was looted under the cloud of political cover provided by our corrupt Congress. There has to come a time when Congressmen and Senators are held accountable for failing to perform the duties they are sworn to. There must be credible sanctions against these people who are driving our country to disaster. There is no one stepping up to apologize to the American people for their deplorable neglect of the nation’s interests. There is no sullen remorse or shame that they belong to a distinct group so disgracefully inept, that they brought the country to the brink of chaos. The final insult to the people is that these members of Congress, are now showboating at every opportunity to tell how hard they are working on these grueling negotiations to come up with a plan. To think, they were made to work late, forced to work through the weekend. Does it occur to any of these fools that regular citizens do this as a routine to keep body and soul together?

When people say, “there’s plenty of blame to go around”, you can be sure they are to blame. How about we try something new and actually assign the blame, and name the names and secure the guilty their just place in history, how revolutionary that would be.

Congress is now working hard to morph its role from lackadaisical incompetents to hero rescuers who saved the day, and that is truly perverse.

DEBATES…ROUND 1

McCain did well. Obama looked very young. One of the after debate analysts quoted the Obama campaign as claiming, McCain is looking to the past and Obama is looking to the future. The intent of the remark was to make lemonade of lemons. McCain’s past, as with us all, goes to make up our experience, and experience is good. The main ingredient of wisdom is experience, and experience takes a long time.

Obama’s weakness on foreign affairs was made evident and the fact that he is not well traveled to the troubled places that need our focus is problematic, and it seems he has no fire to correct that any time soon. Instead, he brought up Joe Biden as his foreign policy ace. Another awkward moment was the “me too” bracelet comment. McCain sought to minimize Obama by not acknowledging his presence and never making eye contact, but I think it was overdone and became a bit too much toward the end.

Scripted humor fell flat for McCain at the outset, and shouldn’t be used by either candidate, there is nothing humorous facing the country today, and neither of them is good at it. And while there weren’t any monumental moments, this is what the people want, direct interaction of the nominees. The format was good and there were no stupid reporters’ questions, Jim Lehrer did an excellent job of not injecting himself into the proceedings as so many moderators in the past have. All told, it was a good night for John McCain.

AL FRANKEN MAN OF THE PEOPLE?

Filed under: CULTIVATED STUPIDITY — CW @ 9:30 pm

Al Franken was featured on Saturday Night live; after it was funny. That show originated as a sketch comedy/music endeavor, and it indeed had its funny people and moments. But soon humor and entertainment, the very things that brought wild success to the show fell victim to liberal political ideology. Funny, successful people were replaced with nobodies who weren’t funny or entertaining. The cast was populated with people who brought with them an arrogance that quickly lost its audience. Humor was replaced by an attitude of pseudo-sophistication, a campy chic that said “….we are far too clever for the masses.” The show began to take on an air of exclusivity directed at knowing insiders, that only fellow travelers need tune in.

Al Franken had found his comfort zone, far from any link to real people or their real world. He was now, he thought, considered a comic genius, a cognoscenti who ‘gets it’, far above the ridiculously mundane world of the common folk. Now Al Franken wants those very same common people to see that all the silliness of celebrity is behind him, that he’s grown up now and is one of them. He wants their votes. Al Franken wants to be a Senator…… now that’s funny.
