ALL THE PRESIDENT’S FRIENDS

By CW

Henry Gates thought he knew the law, but with so many primping elitists, he found out he wasn’t as smart as he thought he was. After all, Gates is supposedly an educated man, a scholar, a man of position…someone to be respected. Many so-called scholars and academics, are fully immersed in their chosen field ….and Henry Gates’ chosen field is…RACE.

What must be noted, regarding the Gates incident, is the immediate, automatic reflex-response by Gates….to scream “RACIST”. Once, a charge of racism could end careers and destroy lives and it could stop things cold and garner very serious attention. But the word today is meaningless, it’s been worn out and abused by racial hucksters, ideologues and unsophisticated clergy and academics who have cried wolf one too many times.

Why would a man turn so ugly on another man who was trying to help him? Why, as reported, would a so-called scholar revert to street level trash talk referencing someone’s mother? Why was the first rock Gates picked up…. “racist!” It was calculated to do great damage to Sgt. Crowley professionally and personally, but Gates was blinded by opportunity and miscalculated badly.

In a complete reversal today, Gates declares, “This isn’t about me!” But wait…this is entirely about him. People were looking out for him. His neighbor was watching his home and a police officer was protecting it by investigating a possible violation of that home, yet Gates managed to degrade it into something racial. Now, on second thought, the outrage wasn’t so bad, and now a much meeker Gates really wants to…”move on”, but his careless theatrics have unearthed a questionable quote from his past that may shed a bright light on Henry Gates’ state of mind …

“As always, whitey now sits in judgment of me, preparing to cast my fate. It is your decision either to let me blow with the wind as a nonentity or to encourage the development of self. Allow me to prove myself.”

Perhaps Henry Gates is too steeped in his chosen field, perhaps race is always the first quality noted for consideration in his view of the world. Henry Gates has a problem with race and it must remain ‘his’ problem and it is up to him to remedy that problem, but he attempted to make it another man’s with a convoluted racial hoax and now an unmasked Gates is running away from the incident. Recently, the social winds have changed, much to the surprise of one inflated, self-important intellectual and his friend…the President.
